Forging New Paths: Celebrating Growth and Opportunity in Hispanic Homeownership

This past week was monumental for HOME as we hosted our very first webinar, setting the stage for a new era in the mortgage industry! As President and CEO, I am incredibly proud to see our team’s hard work and dedication culminate in such a meaningful event. But this was more than just an introduction—it was the launch of a national strategy, a movement to empower the Hispanic community in homeownership like never before. Our mission is clear: to build a bridge between Hispanic homebuyers and the mortgage industry, empowering both with the knowledge and resources needed to thrive. We dove deep into important myths, revealed insights that caught everyone’s attention, and set forth a vision for a united and impactful future.

One of the most compelling revelations was the sheer growth and purchasing power within the Hispanic community. Contrary to outdated beliefs, Hispanic homebuyers are moving into higher-income brackets, with 71% of their recent home purchases made in middle to upper-middle income neighborhoods. This signals a dramatic shift in wealth and opportunity that deserves recognition. Moreover, Hispanic migration patterns show strong growth and community-building in unexpected regions: Texas has seen 79,000 in net positive migration, Pennsylvania 58,400, Georgia 37,600, Ohio 25,500, and Illinois 17,000. These numbers illustrate the Hispanic community’s resilience, ambition, and upward mobility across the nation.

We need passionate leaders to continue building on this momentum! I invite each of you to join us in this mission by becoming a State Captain. State Captains are the heartbeat of our national strategy, leading localized initiatives, building networks, and fostering connections in their communities. Imagine the impact you could have, shaping the future for Hispanic homebuyers in your state and setting an example for the entire industry. By joining us, you become part of a powerful movement to break down barriers and create lasting change. Let’s work together to educate, empower, and celebrate the Hispanic community as we transform the mortgage landscape. The time is now, the time was yesterday—join us and become a HOME State Captain today!
